AARON SACHS TRIVIA -
It is not widely known that Aaron Sachs wrote the song "El Mundo De Las Locas," an instrumental as recorded by Tito Rodriguez. Although the song is often mistakenly credited to Mr. Rodriguez as composer, Mr. Sachs actually wrote the song, which was originally titled "Faggot's World." The song "El Mundo De Las Locas," as recorded by Tito Rodriguez, was released on Blue Note records. It has also often been called "Gay World." The song is now a Latin music standard. The same song was also recorded under the title "Blast Off" by Louie Bellson. In spite of the many titles, the melody and chord changes are the same, as composed by Aaron Sachs.
Aaron Sachs co-wrote the 1960s hit single "Twist Changa" with bandleader and legend Machito, as recorded by Latin music legend Machito, on Roulette records.
Benny Goodman considered Aaron Sachs as a protege, and was his mentor in Aaron's early years.
Aaron Sachs played on jazz goddess Sarah Vaughn's first recording session.
Earl "Fatha" Hines hired Aaron Sachs for his band, and some time later Hines also hired Aaron's then wife (singer Helen Merrill) as well, giving the young Ms. Merrill her professional start. The Hines band at the time also included singer Etta Jones, giving the band two vocalists.
